We visited the cast of The Mystery of Edwin Drood at The Landor to find out more about the show.
2012 is Dickens' bicentenary and with it comes an assortment of events and activities to celebrate the definitive novelist's life. It is often cited that the writer would have been a playwright had the cultural conditions of his day been different, and theatre is not exempt from an appearance of the social-commenter. Dickens' last and unfinished novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood was made into a musical by Rupert Holmes that was hugely successful on Broadway and in its West End transfer, and now Aria Entertainment in association with The Landor Theatre bring back the Tony Award winning musical in a brand new production starring Coronation Street star Wendi Peters as Princess Puffer, Victoria Farley as Rosa Budd, Loula Geater as Helena Landlass and Daniel Robinson as John Jasper.
We speak to some of the cast and director Matthew Gould about the show and it's rather unusual ending...
